Hello, thank you for visiting my website.
My name is Robyn Davis. I am a a qualified art therapist and a professional member of the Australian and New Zealand Art Therapy Association (ANZATA), and the Australia Counselling Association (ACA). My qualifications include a Masters in Therapeutic Arts Practice (art therapy), Masters of Arts in Counselling and Professional Supervision and Adult Education.
I take an integrative and relational approach to inquiry and work closely with my clients to choose tolls and techniques that suit them best. During a session, people may explore issues such as adapting to life changes, grief and loss, anxiety, stress and depression. I provide a safe holding space for those who seek a deeper level of personal or spiritual meaning.
Some of the tools I use in my work are:
– collage, drawing and painting
– journaling and poetry
– life mapping and goal setting
– mindfulness, relaxation and stress reduction techniques
– guided visualizations
– movement and somatic experiencing techniques.
I am always researching and exploring new ways of arts based inquiry methods and I ‘practice what I preach’. My own inquiry practice enables me to stay calm and grounded. This enables me to hold a safe space for my clients to ‘dive deep’. whilst they transform their feelings of sadness, disappointment and/or loss, into acceptance, healing and growth.
You can find out more about my own personal inquiry process using collage techniques at – https://www.collagetherapy.wordpress.com
I also enjoy my own art practice where I work intuitively and generally create a bit of a mess and then fix it up; a bit like life!
