Hello and welcome to my website…
I’m Robyn Davis, a qualified art therapist and counsellor, with over twenty years experience working with a diverse range of people in the private, public and community sectors.
I offer therapeutic arts based programs and sessions through my home studio and from professional rooms in North Lyneham. Two days a week, you will find me facilitating art therapy groups for a drug and alcohol service in Canberra.
I hold professional membership with the Australian and New Zealand Arts Therapy Association (ANZATA), and my qualifications include a Masters in Therapeutic Arts Practice (art therapy) and a Master of Arts in Counselling. In addition, I am a university level qualified professional supervisor and adult educator.
I take an integrative and relational approach to my practice and provide a safe space for exploring life changes, including grief and loss, anxiety, stress and depression. I often companion others who are seeking a deeper level of personal or spiritual meaning.
Some of the tools we might use together include
– collage, drawing and painting
– journalling and poetry
– life mapping and goal setting
– relaxation and stress reduction techniques
– guided visualizations
– somatic experiencing techniques
I also enjoy researching and exploring new ways of arts based inquiry and I ‘practice what I preach’. I love doing my own ‘inner work‘ and my personal inquiry practices enable me to stay calm, grounded and resilient. I share my own collage inquiry/therapy journey at – https://collagetherapy.wordpress.com/
In my own creative art practice I work intuitively, generally creating a mess and then fixing it up; a bit like life! You can see some of the mess I make on Facebook- https://www.facebook.com/RobynDavisArt/
I look forward to working with you, Robyn.
