The following series of short Youtube videos provide an easy to understand explanation of the ‘trauma informed approach‘. The presentations may seem a bit stilted, but I appreciate the ‘no frills‘ information. Those who have attended art therapy and/or counselling sessions with me will notice the underpinnings of our work together.
Hi Robyn,
Thank you so much for sending me the link to these videos. After watching the first two, I have already forwarded them to my sister. She is still working through childhood trauma from being isolated as an infant and left in a room by our mother all night even if she was crying. The feeling of isolation was traumatising. A line in the video made me think of her; “Being isolated is traumatising for a social animal like human beings”.
I hope you are well and have a relaxing break despite the smoke and uncontrollable fires.
Also Natasa has created a wonderful 2020 CAHMA Calendar that has art work from the acrylic paint pouring events earlier in the year. It looks amazing. Do you have a postal address so I can send one to you? I think you appreciate it.
Kindest Regards,
Geoff
